5th Grade Farm School Fundraising

It has been a long-standing tradition at Cambridgeport to send our 5th graders on an overnight trip to The Farm School in Athol, MA. There, the students spend 3 days working and living on the farm. Learning animal husbandry, land stewardship, life skills and the importance of teamwork. It’s a life changing trip for many of our students, one we are so grateful that they have.

However, the cost of this trip can be prohibitive for some families and fundraising to ensure that all students can attend often falls to the 5th grade families and the CPTO. We don’t want anyone to miss out on this experience and initiatives are underway to make it happen.

This is our headquarters for fundraising efforts for the 2024-2025 Farm School Field Trip. Check back here for updates and to learn more about how you can help support this experience!

If you would like to make a direct donation to support the Farm School Field Trip, you can make a tax deductible donation in the Donorbox below or via Venmo. If donating with Venmo, our handle is @CambridgeportPTO please leave the note “Farm School” in the comment section. Thank you!!

CPTO/Hannan Healthy Foods Farm partnership & Farm Stand Sale – November 20-27
Mohammed Hannan, 5th grader Afsheen’s father and head farmer/proprietor of Hannan Healthy Foods Farm, has generously donated several hundred pounds of winter squash to the CPTO, which we will offer to C’Port families for free (donations gratefully accepted from those wish to contribute), with any proceeds going to support CPTO initiatives, such as the 5th grade farm school trip. Additionally, the Hannan family has committed to contributing 15% of the farm’s very own small batch tomato sauce and small batch hot sauce sales proceeds, as well as 10% of sales proceeds from any CSA shares that people purchase through this fundraising effort. Learn more about the farm here.
If you are interested in purchasing a farm share, please complete this form and we’ll get you signed up!
In addition, we will be hosting a series of farm stands in front of the school this week and next and at the Turkey Trot on Nov. 27, 12:30pm at Sennott Park.

Farm Stand Dates:

  • Weds Nov 20 & Tues Nov 26 at Pick-up
  • Fr i Nov 22 & Mon Nov 25 at Drop-off
  • Weds, Nov 27 at the Turkey Trot, Sennott Park, 12:30pm
Such a great way to build community, contribute to farm school trip funding, and get fresh, healthy, organic produce to C’Port families while supporting the Hannan family farm’s mission to provide people with affordable, diverse, and sustainable produce.
