2024 Make a Difference Day

What is Make a Difference Day (MADD)?

Make a Difference Day (MADD) is a yearly tradition at Cambridgeport where families come together to work on improvement projects at the school and build community while doing so. It’s a great way to come together inside the school and help out.

What to Expect

Expect to roll up your sleeves, but also expect to have fun. One of the best things about this day of community service is getting to work together with other families and be inside the school. Since the pandemic, most of us have not had much opportunity to walk the halls where our kids spend their days, so it’s just great to get a chance to be in the school and to really — well — make a difference.

Most of these projects we have planned for this year require a little elbow grease and others will put your organizational skills to the test. Some the projects include organizing the outdoor sheds, scrubbing desks and chairs, and organizing the stage area.  There will be also be some crafting projects this year including button making and pillow sewing.  The more hands we have on deck, the more we can accomplish! So be sure to sign up for your time slot today!

Volunteer Sign-Up

All volunteers are welcome — students, family members, friends — we’ll find a job for everyone!! It’s super helpful to have folks sign up ahead of time so we can better plan for the day. Simply fill out the Volunteer Sign-up sheet to tell us how many family members will be attending,  what you’d ideally like to help with and what time slot(s) work best. When you arrive, we’ll give you a choice of projects to do.

Donate funds or supplies

If you have any of the following items to donate or loan for the day, that would be amazing!! Please fill out the sign-up form and indicate which items you can supply.  If you are donating/loaning supplies, please drop your supplies to the school entryway any day the week before the 25th, so we’ll have them on hand day of.  you’ll see a drop-off area  near the main entrance.   • Bulk snacks/seltzer/coffee/tea for the staff room
  • Box of gloves, microfiber rags, or other cleaning supplies as needed
